Tomorrow is Chinese New Year's. I'm excited about this, because it will kick off the year of the Rat.
I, myself, am a Rat.
Yes, yes, thank you, I've heard most of the jokes before. Sheesh. Everyone's a comedian.
Hmn I really need to get back to work on starting my cult. Maybe this would be a good year to do it. |

You can never be too safe.
Ever since I was attacked a few years ago, I've lived by those words.
The police said it was a random incident, that the guy didn't know who I was. I was relaxing after work one night, when he came. he pounded on my door and said he needed to use the phone, that he'd been hurt.
I opened the door just long enough for him and his friends to rush in.
I wasn't even in the hospital for that long.
I started taking precautions after that, though.
I quit my job.
Started working from home. It was hard, but, I could afford it.
I stopped going out.
Most of my friends still call, and I talk to them online all the time.
BRB...there's someone at the door.
BAK...
...Nobody I knew. He wouldn't answer the intercom, just stood there, shuffling back and forth. Fine. let him. I'd call the cops, but the cell-towers around here must be down. I haven't been able to get a signal for hours now.
Not that it matters. The doors are metal, and the windows are shatterproof...not that anyone can get to the window past the bars, anyway.
You can never be too safe.
He's gone now...I heard him bang around the side of the house, and it's quiet now.
Probably a crack-head looking for money.
I hate them.
No...he's back again...I can hear him scraping something on the side of the house.
They need to fix the damn towers. People could be hurt and trying to call for help.
I'm okay...I have everything I need in here.
I think he has friends with him...I can hear them outside, around the house. I'm pretty sure there's at least four of them, two on the side of the house, and two in front.
I could make a break for it, get to my car...but...No..too risky.
It's safer to stay here, wait them out.
I've planned for this for years. I knew they'd come back eventually...
Ha. let them. This is my fortress, my tower, my castle.
I've spared no expense on locks and reinforced walls and windows.
You can never be too safe.
There's someone else outside...sounds like a woman, screaming. Probably a trap. I can't see anything on the cameras. She's pounding on the door now, begging me to open it up.
Ha. Yeah, right. I won't fall for THAT again.
There...She's gone now. There were some crashes from outside, and then she went quiet. Probably gave up when she realised her trick wasn't working, and tried to bash in my door.
That's two-inch steel, lady. I spared no expense on it.
You can never be too safe.
Newsfeeds say people are rioting everywhere.
Turning on each other, going cannibal.
I knew this day would come.
I'm prepared.
I'm safe.
They can't get in.
I'm safe.
They can't get in.
There's more out there now. I can hear them. Sounds like a whole gang, probably juiced up on god knows what. They're banging on the side of the house now.
When are the damn towers going to come back up? Where are the damned police?
I don't care.
I'm safe.
I'm safe.
They can't get in.
I'm safe.
I'm safe.
I'm safe.
I'm safe...
